첫번째 영성훈련 지침

태초를 생각해 보십시오.

세상의 모든 것은 시작이 있었으나 하나님만은 항상 존재해 오셨습니다. 피조물된 우리는 하나님의 관용을 통해서 시작되었고 우리 삶의 순간순간은 창조주의 손에 달려 있습니다. 창조주께서는 자비롭게 피조물과 함께 하는 은사를 허락하시고 우리가 세상에서 하는 모든 일을 수행할 수 있도록 바라십니다. 하나님의 영원하신 선과 은총에 대한 깨달음만큼 우리 인간의 감사와 찬양을 고무시키는 것은 없습니다.


시편 19:1-6

1  하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다 2  날은 날에게 말하고 밤은 밤에게 지식을 전하니  3   언어도 없고 말씀도 없으며 들리는 소리도 없으나  4  그의 소리가 온 땅에 통하고 그의 말씀이 세상 끝까지 이르도다 하나님이 해를 위하여 하늘에 장막을 베푸셨도다  5  해는 그의 신방에서 나오는 신랑과 같고 그의 길을 달리기 기뻐하는 장사 같아서 6  하늘 이 끝에서 나와서 하늘 저 끝까지 운행함이여 그의 열기에서 피할 자가 없도다

전능하신 하나님,
산이 생기기 전,
주께서 세상을 창조하시기 전에도 영원에서 영원토록 주는 하나님이시이다.
주의 이름을 찬양할지어다!


본문 : 창세기 1:1-25절

1   태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하시니라 2   땅이 혼돈하고 공허하며 흑암이 깊음 위에 있고 하나님의 영은 수면 위에 운행하시니라 3   하나님이 이르시되 빛이 있으라 하시니 빛이 있었고 4   빛이 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 하나님이 빛과 어둠을 나누사 5   하나님이 빛을 낮이라 부르시고 어둠을 밤이라 부르시니라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 첫째 날이니라 6   하나님이 이르시되 물 가운데에 궁창이 있어 물과 물로 나뉘라 하시고 7   하나님이 궁창을 만드사 궁창 아래의 물과 궁창 위의 물로 나뉘게 하시니 그대로 되니라 8   하나님이 궁창을 하늘이라 부르시니라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 둘째 날이니라 9   하나님이 이르시되 천하의 물이 한 곳으로 모이고 뭍이 드러나라 하시니 그대로 되니라 10   하나님이 뭍을 땅이라 부르시고 모인 물을 바다라 부르시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 11   하나님이 이르시되 땅은 풀과 씨 맺는 채소와 각기 종류대로 씨 가진 열매 맺는 나무를 내라 하시니 그대로 되어 12   땅이 풀과 각기 종류대로 씨 맺는 채소와 각기 종류대로 씨 가진 열매 맺는 나무를 내니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 13   저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 셋째 날이니라 14   하나님이 이르시되 하늘의 궁창에 광명체들이 있어 낮과 밤을 나뉘게 하고  그것들로 징조와 계절과 날과 해를 이루게 하라 15   또 광명체들이 하늘의 궁창에 있어 땅을 비추라 하시니 그대로 되니라 16   하나님이 두 큰 광명체를 만드사 큰 광명체로 낮을 주관하게 하시고  작은 광명체로 밤을 주관하게 하시며 또 별들을 만드시고 17   하나님이 그것들을 하늘의 궁창에 두어 땅을 비추게 하시며 18   낮과 밤을 주관하게 하시고 빛과 어둠을 나뉘게 하시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 19   저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 넷째 날이니라 20   하나님이 이르시되 물들은 생물을 번성하게 하라 땅 위 하늘의 궁창에는 새가 날으라 하시고 21   하나님이 큰 바다 짐승들과 물에서 번성하여 움직이는 모든 생물을 그 종류대로, 날개 있는 모든 새를 그 종류대로 창조하시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 22   하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시며 이르시되 생육하고 번성하여 여러 바닷물에 충만하라 새들도 땅에 번성하라 하시니라 23   저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 다섯째 날이니라 24   하나님이 이르시되 땅은 생물을 그 종류대로 내되 가축과 기는 것과 땅의 짐승을 종류대로 내라 하시니 그대로 되니라 25   하나님이 땅의 짐승을 그 종류대로, 가축을 그 종류대로, 땅에 기는 모든 것을 그 종류대로 만드시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라

  5. 여러분의 일지에 하나님의 피조물됨에 대한 여러분의 생각을 담은 기도를 일지에 적으십시오.

  6. 여러분의 삶에서 나타나는 하나님의 뜻을 분별할 수 있게 해달라고 하나님께 편지를 쓰십시오. 그렇게 할 때에

    여러분이 처해있는 상황의 성격, 여러분이 느끼는 혼동, 여러분이 요구하는 이유, 그리고 앞날의 당신이 나아갈

    방향을 분명히 알기를 바라는 소원을 진술하십시오. 

자비로우신 주여,
주님의 자비로 주님께서는 주님의 아름다우심, 선하심,
그리고 완벽하심에 홀로 계시지 않기로 작정하시고
주님의 목적을 달성하시기 위해 세상을 부르사 인도하시니이다.
주의 이름이 찬양받을지어다!

Recall the Beginning

Everything has had a beginning but God has always been. As creatures we had a beginning through the generosity of God and every moment of our life we are dependent upon our Creator. The Creator graciously shares the gift of being with the creatures and desires their fulfillment in the fulfillment of all things on the earth. Nothing so inspires human gratitude and praise as the a wareness of God’s eternal goodness and grace.

Psalm 19:1-6

Almighty God, before the mountains were brought forth or ever you had created the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You Are God. Praise your Name!

Text : Genesis 1:1-25

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. 6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. 9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.  20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.  24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Guide to the text:

  3. 3.Meditate on the goodness of the Creator and the goodness of creation.

  4. 4.Muse oyer your own beginning.

    How does the story of creation connect with your life?

  5. 5.In your journal write a prayer reflecting your response to being a creation of God.

  6. 6.Write a letter to God in which you request discernment of God’s will for your life.

    Be sure to state the nature of your situation, the confusion you feel, the reasons for your requestr and your desire for clarity in discerning your way into the future.

    (After each exercise read and revise this letter as you find it necessary.)Gracious God, in your benevolence you chose not to remain alone in your beauty, goodness, and perfection but you called a world into being wherein you would work out your purposes. Praise to your name!
